Signs you felt that you were engrafting
Hi,
For those who have been through transplant I wondered if there was anything you felt when you were beginning to engraft.
I don't want to get too excited but this morning my mouth felt totally different, it's still sore but I could swallow with a lot less tenderness and managed a warm cup of tea which I couldn't do before. I also just 'feel' generally retake well, much less tired and sick.
I'm trying not to get my hopes up that docs are going to say there's some cell recovery during rounds but do you think this could be sings that magic things are happening?

A message to your new bone marrow: KEEP 'EM COMING!
I remember the sore mouth and loss of taste well. Nothing tastes the same. Ice lollies help and are nice and soothing on the mouth. Make sure you eat what you can even if you don't feel like it, and if necessary use the nutritional milk shakes. They're nice made with a scoop of ice cream!
Take care and good luck with your continued recovery.
Steve
